Project preview — An operations desk for a clinic: appointments, patients, and a day view the front desk can trust.
Client: Helio Clinic. 2025
Problem
Bookings lived in three places. Double-booking was common, and nobody could answer “who is waiting?” without asking someone else.
Solution
One schedule, one patient record, and roles that show each person only the part of the day they need.
Helio Desk replaces a shared spreadsheet and a paper book. The front desk sees the day, the practitioner sees their list, and a record stays attached to the person instead of a chat thread.
Features
- Day and week schedule
- Patient record with visit notes
- Front-desk check-in
- Role separation for desk and practitioner
Technology
- Next.js
- TypeScript
- PostgreSQL
- Prisma
Development process
The first week was spent sitting with the opening routine. The day view was designed before any other screen, because that is the screen that has to be right at 9am.
